Concept stores

The task from the Moscow
food retail SPAR was to:


  • Create a corporate identity according to the new concept of stores without changing logo and corporate colors of the brand;
  • Create a brand book;
  • Create branded items for shops and its own products.

The new concept store is freshness, quality and natural products. So, trough developing of corporate identity we reflected a certain idea of naturalness, care and quality.

For the style we have chosen crafting paper and paperboard, which are marked by a nice looking warm light brown color and rough texture paper. This paper is valuable not because of its totally white purity like in ordinary office paper, but because of its special 'imperfection' and the feeling of man-made of each sheet.

The second important aspect is the style of graphics used for the decoration of all media corporate identity. As a key ideas were farmers illustrations, backgrounds, backdrops, substrates and patterns of American illustrator, performed manually in a special technique for this project.


The illustrations depict various 'food' motifs include images of fruits and vegetables, fish and meat. Illustrations are painted in company colors with the printed overlay effect.

Due to the specific absorbency of craft paper, two-color illustrations and aliasing are more shades of colors they refer us to the old-school posters of the last century, which had a similar color effect caused by the limitations of printing techniques of the time.
